Social Behavioral Public Health Scientist – University of Nevada, Reno
The University of Nevada, Reno, School of Public Health (SPH) is recruiting for a Social Behavioral Public Health Scientist at the Assistant Professor level. The ideal candidate will have expertise in substance use research for a state-funded, tenure-track faculty position. The successful applicant will join a growing, transdisciplinary faculty of substance use researchers within the newly-established Center for Drug Use and Policy Research in the SPH. Primary responsibilities will include: conduct social behavioral research on cannabis, tobacco regulatory policy, opioid overdose prevention, and stimulant use.
Required Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate (PhD, DrPH, ScD) in social/behavioral science or a closely related field, preferably from an accredited School of Public Health.
- The successful applicant is expected to teach at all levels (undergraduate, masters and doctoral courses); develop and maintain an independent program of scholarship; contribute to the growth of the School of Public Health; and engage in University, community, and professional service.
- A strong publication record including existing grants, or demonstrated potential for securing extramural research funding.
- NIH-designated New and/or Early Career Investigators are encouraged to apply. Methodological expertise in implementation science, and/or behavioral or clinical intervention development and evaluation is preferred.
