Postdoctoral Research Associate – Brown University School of Public Health
The postdoctoral research associate position (100% FTE for at least 2 years) will be affiliated with the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies as the administrative home to the Center for Addiction and Disease Risk Exacerbation (CADRE), a NIH Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE). Our thematic focus is on the relationship between substance use and chronic disease. With the implementation of the university wide diversity and inclusion action plan, and the recruitment of faculty with interests addressing disparities in vulnerable populations, we are seeking to recruit a postdoctoral research associate with interests in addressing substance use issues in high-risk, low-SES vulnerable populations, especially in racial and ethnic minority populations.
The postdoctoral research associate will primarily work with one or a team of the following faculty comprising the leadership of CADRE. Peter Monti, PhD (PI and Director), Jasjit S. Ahluwalia, MD, MPH (Deputy Director) and Jennifer Tidey, PhD (Core Leader), Tyler Wray, PhD (Core Leader), Mollie Monnig, PhD (Director of Research Capacity), Lauren Micalizzi, PhD (Project Lead), Cara Murphy, PhD (Project Lead). Opportunities to participate in ongoing studies, new pilot studies, work on team grant writing, and writing one’s own grant are available.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (in a relevant discipline, including but not limited to public health, behavioral sciences, psychology, and sociology) at the time the appointment begins. Salary is commensurate with federal NRSA stipend levels, and funds are available for conference travel. The position comes with employment benefits, including health insurance. Start dates are flexible.
