Two Tenure Track Faculty Positions -University at Buffalo

The Department of Community Health and Health Behavior (CHHB) within the School of Public Health and Health Professions (SPHHP) at the University at Buffalo (UB) is seeking to fill two tenure track faculty positions at the level of assistant, associate, or full professor. These positions are 12-month, hard money (funded through the State of New York) appointments and include comprehensive health and retirement plan options.

The Department of Community Health and Health Behavior is multi-disciplinary, including faculty members with backgrounds in clinical psychology, health behavior, and nutrition/food insecurity. Research activities focus on examining etiological factors, maintenance behaviors, and interventions to address challenging public health problems. We seek candidates with expertise in addictive behaviors, with an emphasis on alcohol-related issues. We are open to candidates with a strong record in academia and research in community health, health behavior, or a related field. Minimum Qualifications:  Doctorate degree in community health, health behavior, public health discipline, psychology, or a related field, or an MD/DO. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Record of high-quality peer-reviewed scientific publications consistent with rank.
  • Record of or potential for extramural research funding consistent with rank.
  • Excellence in teaching.
  • Experience of successful mentoring of graduate students.
