Chair of Pharmacological Sciences – Sydney Pharmacy School and The University of Sydney

About the opportunity: The Faculty of Medicine and Health is the largest faculty in the University of Sydney, and contains seven academic schools, including Sydney Pharmacy School (SPS). We are seeking to appoint an outstanding senior academic as Chair of Pharmacological Science. This is a research focused position suited to an ambitious person with a passion for building a program of work in pharmacological science. The Chair will grow an internationally outstanding research program which will complement and leverage the research activities in the School and Faculty. The Chair will be expected to leverage the programs beyond the SPS, such as laboratory research in the School of Medical Science and build strong connections with Faculty Research Flagship Research Centres – such as the NH&MRC Clinical Trials Centre. The Chair’s research program should align very closely with the aspirations of the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator. The Accelerator is a $650M partnership between the University and the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital/Sydney Local Health District which is committed to accelerating the pathway of research discovery to clinical practice.
