Post Doctoral Position studying sex differences in THC/CBD exposure across the lifespan at Medical University of South Carolina.

Drs. Carmela Reichel and Onder Albayram at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) invite applications for a post-doctoral position to pursue collaborative studies on THC/CBD across the life span. We offer a competitive salary and benefits. Applicant will be part of the Specialized Center of Research Excellence on Sex and Gender Differences in Addiction. This NIH/NIDA funded project is focused on understanding volitional THC/CBD administration in rats, subsequent relapse to drug seeking, and changes in cognitive processes that result from THC/CBD. This project will also establish sex and age differences in lipidomic and genetic profiles, cell type distribution of CB1 receptors, and changes in endocannabinoid signaling and synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus. Expertise in behavioral testing and rodent surgery is desirable, but not necessary. Fellows will have opportunities to apply for our competitive NIDA T32 training mechanisms as well as an individual fellowships and pilot funding. MUSC boasts an active post-doctoral community with training opportunity in grant writing and career progression. This position is currently open.
