Postdoctoral Position – Neuroimaging, Mental Health, and Substance Use

Mentored by Dr. A. Eden Evins and Dr. Jodi M. Gilman, Center of Addiction Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School

We are seeking an ambitious and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow with strong background in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical engineering, computer science, or related disciplines to join our multidisciplinary research team at the Center of Addiction Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

The fellow will contribute to ongoing and newly funded studies that leverage non-invasive brain imaging (e.g., fMRI, MRI, PET) to investigate brain mechanisms underlying mental health and substance use outcomes. Projects involve both new data collection and the use of large-scale, publicly available datasets (e.g., the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study: ABCD).

Candidates with demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Neuroimaging analysis (e.g., fMRI preprocessing, functional connectivity, sMRI, DTI)
  • Longitudinal and/or multivariate statistics
  • Machine learning or other high-throughput computational approaches
  • Programming skills in Python, R, MATLAB, or similar tools

The Fellow will also have opportunities to collaborate on additional neuroimaging studies of adolescents and of those with substance use disorders, and will have access to cutting-edge neuroimaging resources at the Anthinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging.

This position offers strong mentorship, access to a rich research environment, and support for career development and publishing.
