Research Associate – Weill Cornell Medicine
Weill Cornell Medicine’s Department of Population Health Sciences is recruiting a doctoral-level Research Associate to join Dr. Sean Murphy’s laboratory in the Division of Comparative Effectiveness and Outcomes Research.
The lab works in a team environment providing economic evidence on interventions for people with substance use disorders, HIV, and related conditions. Dr. Murphy is a leading expert in designing and conducting economic evaluations across a multitude of settings, including criminal-legal, primary care, and substance use treatment. The applicant will join a dynamic multidisciplinary team, while connecting with prominent substance use researchers, globally.
This is a full-time, annual appointment with renewal possibility based on performance and funding. The candidate is a quantitative researcher with experience using advanced econometric and biostatistical approaches to analyze person-level data. Experience in the field of behavioral health and with large health insurance claims-based analytic files are valuable.
Qualifications include:
• PhD in health economics, health services research, health policy, or related field
• Programming skill in 1+ statistical/computational language (Stata, SAS, R)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong teamwork skills
• Ability to contribute to multiple projects with excellent time management
Key responsibilities:
• Lead economic analyses with guidance from Dr. Murphy
• Collaborate on manuscripts, presentations, and other products, as lead or contributing author.
• Produce high-quality results and displays
• Support data acquisition and management
• Collaborate on grant proposals
