Advancing Smoking Cessation: FDA and NIH Priorities

Attend the joint public meeting hosted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Goals and Objectives:  This public meeting will address the need for novel smoking cessation products to help individuals of all ages, including underserved and vulnerable populations, stop smoking. The overall goal of the meeting is to stimulate novel product development to reduce rates of smoking and related chronic illnesses. The meeting format will include presentations and panel discussions.

The FDA will make every effort to accommodate persons with physical disabilities or special needs at public meetings. If a reasonable accommodation is needed, please indicate accordingly during registration and email TobaccoCessation@fda.hhs.gov. Requests for sign language interpretation should be made at least 7 days before the public meeting. A request for ASL services should be sent directly to the FDA Interpreting Services Staff email account: interpreting.services@fda.hhs.gov. The FDA White Oak campus and FDA shuttle are generally accessible to people with physical disabilities.

Virtual Attendance Information: The Zoom link will be provided to all registered attendees before the meeting. Virtual attendees can join the meeting by computer or phone.

Individuals attending the meeting in person may submit requests to make oral presentations at the public meeting. Select “In-person registration with presentation request,” follow the instructions presented in the confirmation email, and submit all details by 5 p.m. EDT, October 1, 2024.
