NIAAA Annual Address with Director George F. Koob, PhD

Dr. George F. Koob, Ph.D., Director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), will deliver an annual address highlighting current priorities, emerging opportunities, and ongoing efforts across the Institute. As Director, Dr. Koob leads NIAAA’s work to reduce the public health burden associated with alcohol misuse and oversees a broad research portfolio spanning basic science, epidemiology, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
The address is expected to provide perspective on areas of ongoing focus across the Institute, including prevention of alcohol misuse, improving the diagnosis and treatment of alcohol use disorder, addressing alcohol-related health consequences, and strengthening the research enterprise that supports progress in these areas.
